Sunday, November 16, 2025 / Galveston Embarkation / Day 1
No travel involved other than the 15-20 minute walk from Terminal 14 to Terminal 16
, where I checked my bag with the first porters I encountered—easy peasy travel day. I entered the new Royal Caribbean terminal at about 10:20, and it was so smooth that I was sipping a Painkiller in the beautiful ship’s promenade deck by 10:35. Not crowded at all, I had time to purchase a 3-night dining package, the Voom Wi-Fi, and attend to the muster station all within 20 minutes. I had a Hot Dog on the Boardwalk and looked up to find my balcony at the end of deck 9. I then went up to the now-busy Windjammer for watermelon and my favorite oatmeal-raisin cookies. I then went down to Deck 9 to drop off my backpack, and my Cabin Steward, Andri, welcomed me, saying he was finished with my cabin so that I could stay. They usually open at 1:00 p.m. I wanted to try this particular cabin, located on Deck 9, far aft and above the outdoor Aft stage, where they host diving and other outdoor production shows (I have marked it with an arrow in the large photo above). I do have a good view of the center stage and a fair aft view of the sea and wake. I’ll report following the first show I watch. The cabin is nicely furnished, featuring two wardrobes, a small couch, a large-screen TV, a desk area, and a spacious bathroom. An interesting difference is that the cabin doors open outward.
